There have been some reports of the Google Chrome browser interfering with the CSV file creation from the LDS website. When Chrome is used, some of the quotation marks are striped from the file which causes a problem on import. The quotation marks are needed, especially when names and addresses contain commas.
I find it rather ironic that the Google powered browser is causing issues for an app targeted toward a Google powered phone.

I downloaded the file from the website, this time using IE and it still won't import the file. Up unti now I was using Chrome without any luck. Is there supposed to be a status bar when importing the .csv file? Any other ideas?
ReplyDeleteso the membership.csv file works fine but I never got the .csv file from the website to import using IE. Not sure what I missed here, any ideas.

ReplyDeleteAre you using the Droid to Download the CSV file? The Android OS is particular about what kinds of files it will download (which I think is very odd). The best way to get it is to connect your phone to your PC, select the option to mount your SD card, then download the file and save it to your SD card in the /sdcard/WardRoster directory, naming it Directory.csv.

so how do i fix this. i cannot import the cvs file.
